Cantalouper (Reproduction vinyl LP release show) https://cantalouper.bandcamp.com/
Cantalouper started when David Bazan helped complete their first EP at his home studio, after hearing a tape of four track recordings handed to him at a Pedro the Lion show. Cantalouper’s first full-length album, “Mandrakes”, was mixed and mastered by Kramer, who has produced records for bands like Low and Galaxie 500. Cantalouper’s second LP, “Reproduction” will be released May 8, 2015.
It has been a long winter this year in Tennessee and I am ready to snap out of it. As some of you may know, I don’t tour much in the winter season because I like to work through the holidays to make a little extra $$$ before I spend the rest of the year hustling this music.
One last thing before I leave you. We shot a brand new video with my friend Jay Leal from Skeleton Crue!
This has been the most prolific week of Invisible Library so far. We are proud to announce the anticipated release of brainDEAD, the collaborative project of kidDEAD and Brandon Brains. It’s a real banger full of introspection and innovation.
Cantalouper just dropped Katydid, the 2nd single for their upcoming release. If I were Brad from Semi-Pro Records I’d say that they are on 2nd base. They will be on tour with Spoken Nerd in April so make sure you catch a show this spring.
Speaking of Spoken Nerd, the nerd kicks off his tour in Nashville at Mad Donna’s on Thursday as he will be out for a couple weeks with Cory Taylor Cox, J.W. Teller and Wilderness Alive. They are even playing at SXSW this year! Here’s a video Spoken Nerd just did with Rev. Jay Leal of Skeleton Crue.
Between Lady Gaga’s SXSW barf-tacular and local MC/producer Spoken Nerd’s new single “Being a Big Guy Isn’t All That Bad,” the music scene’s got us thinking about bodies and body image a lot. (Plus bikini season is almost upon us, and we’ve really let ourselves go over the long cold winter.) But that’s cool, because if Nerd’s new single is good for anything — not counting the dope beat and hilarious lyrics — it’s making us feel better about ourselves. That’s always been Nerd’s shtick. Irreverent, honest and unapologetically goofy, Spoken Nerd has continually set himself apart from the rest of the hip-hop scene by being the cheeriest guy in the room. Needless to say, I’m excited about his new full-length We Are Probably Going to Make It in This World After All, and the album release party, featuring Quiet Entertainer, brainDEAD and comedy from Mary Jane Berger and Mark Anundson, should be killer.
